How to choose AgCdO or AgSnO2 ?

AgCdO (silver cadmium oxide) and AgSnO₂ (silver tin oxide) alloy contacts are two commonly

used electrical contact materials, which are widely used in relays, switches, contactors and other electrical components.

They have their own advantages and disadvantages, how to choose?

- AgCdO is excellent in arc resistance and electrical conductivity,

but is gradually being replaced due to environmental concerns.

- AgSnO₂ is amore environmentally friendly alternative, with better resistance to soldering and high temperature stability,

but its conductivity is a little worse than AgCdO, need to improve conductivity.

- Suggestions:

For high conductivity and low cost (non-environmentally sensitive areas), consider AgCdO.

For environmentally friendly, high-temperature resistant, anti-melting soldering (e.g., electric vehicles, smart homes),

prefer AgSnO₂.
