The Characteristics Of Different Silver Contacts

The characteristics of different silver contacts

1.Pure silver

Pure silver and fine-grained silver have high electrical and thermal conductivity, low and stable touch resistance, and good welding and processing functions. Fine-grained silver greatly refines the grain of the data arrangement. Under the condition that the touch resistance is almost the same, the mechanical strength and temperature resistance of silver contacts are higher than that of silver. Therefore, the welding resistance and arc burning resistance are better than silver.

Pure silver contacts, widely used in small-capacity low-voltage electrical appliances, such as: relays, timers, auxiliary switches, household appliances switches, control switches, etc.

2.Silver nickel AgNi

Silver nickel is more resistant to fusion welding and burning loss than pure silver or fine-grained silver. As the content of high melting point nickel increases, the solder resistance and burnout resistance of the contacts are improved. All silver-nickel contacts have good workability and are easy to solder. Less data handling when switching on and off the DC.

Silver nickel contacts, widely used in low-voltage switchgear. Such as: relays, small current touchers, light switches, thermostats, circuit breakers (asymmetric paired contacts with AgC, AgZnO, etc.).

3.Silver cadmium oxide  AgCdO

Silver cadmium oxide is the most widely used contact material for low-voltage electrical appliances. In the process of using the contacts, there is a good resistance to arc burning and resistance to welding and low touch resistance from beginning to end. The production process includes powder metallurgy (burning strength and kneading) internal oxidation method, and the content of oxidation barrier is 15 ~ 20wt%. However, cadmium and oxidative barriers are not conducive to health and the environment, and the use of silver oxidative barriers is prohibited by some countries.

Silver cadmium contacts is mainly used for various low-voltage switchgears. They are typically used in micro-switches, relays, lighting switches, touch devices, household appliance switches, various protection switches and certain circuit breakers.

4.Silver zinc oxide AgZn

Comparison of silver zinc oxide contacts and silver oxide isolation contacts, silver zinc oxide does not contain toxic metal cadmium, which may pollute the environment. The metal oxides in this process have high thermal stability, excellent electrical conductivity, and high heat resistance during switching. It is resistant to arc erosion and fusion welding, so that silver alloy contacts ensure the reliability of electrical appliances and increase the service life.

Silver zinc oxide contacts, mainly used in relays, touch devices, air switches, motor protectors, micro switches, instruments, household appliances, automotive appliances (light switches, starter motors, etc. compliance switches), leakage protection switches, etc.

5.Silver Tin Oxide AgSnO2 / Silver Tin Oxide Indium Oxide AgSnO2ln2O3

Silver Tin Oxide / Silver Tin Oxide Indium Oxide has excellent burnout resistance and fusion welding resistance. By adding some additives and using powder metallurgy skills (sintering and kneading) and internal oxidation method skills to manufacture AgSnO2 data, the use of persistent contact resistance and low temperature rise is stable. There is little data handling when in direct current, and it is non-toxic environment.

Silver tin oxide contacts, widely used in all kinds of touch devices, relays, circuit breakers and switches.
